The Chalkboard team asked us to help create a platform that delivers everything their community needs without having to toggle between several different sites and apps—with a heavy dose of spirited competition. In addition, we were tasked with creating a brand identity that evokes the visual language of sport and the conversation that goes with it. We wanted it to feel accessible and relevant for all who enjoy connecting with friends and family through a shared love of the game.
Brand elements speak to the visual language of sport and the social backbone of the platform. The identity is completed through the spirited conversation of worthy adversaries—an allusion to the always present competition of the community.
Equal parts social hub for spirited conversation, library of active bets, and metric-trove for data heads. The visual design balances the needs for rich engagement from savvy sports bettors with onboarding and accessible interactions for novices.
Process work including initial vision boards to define the design language north star to initial identity exploration to tighter design concepts with extension ideation.
