Cove
EverCharge
User Experience // On-device Interface
As EverCharge expands into the residential charging space, their first EVSE needed to feel at home in a wide variety of environments. With a disdain for the unconsidered plastic utility boxes that litter exterior walls and garages of most homes, we sought to rethink what tasks an EVSE could do and how it could better function during daily routines.
Drawing inspiration from architectural lighting and finishes, Cove features a halo of light that illuminates as it detects the presence of passersby; offering warm, refined, ambient lighting. Charging statuses are intentionally pared back to compliment—not duplicate or compete with—more nuanced information delivered by the vehicle, and are communicated through the illuminated brand mark at the center of the product.
Cable management is often an afterthought for existing products in the space; solutions are typically unrealistic for everyday life or poorly integrated for the variety of spaces these devices live in. The circular forms of Cove and its satellite holster offer a more thoughtful solution by facilitating real-world wrapping behaviors and offering significant options to tailor your experience around the nuances of your home environment and personal ergonomic preferences.
